Aneka Koti Namaskaram Swamy
Adiyen have a doubt. Baghavan has graced Adiyen in conducting some Satsangams and encouraging people to learn our Vedas and Upanishads. We also have a WhatsApp group with about 100 people where 5 or 6 read and present our scriptures for benefit of all. We also release monthly magazines with various articles from scriptures.
Many in the group are beginners but are my friends and relatives. They also try to learn something but I am not sure if the group is fully utilizing it. This is the background of my question for your better understanding of the context in which it is asked.
Upanishads themselves say that we shall not preach them to others, unless people themselves approach and reveal their interests. Even in case someone approach, one should test the person for his eligibility to learn and then only preach.
I am a common man with half baked knowledge and is not capable of accessing eligibility of anyone, while I am not sure if I am first eligible to preach others. However, I am interested in sharing what I learn with others.
Secondly, if the glory of our scriptures are not preached to others, future generations may not even be aware of the terms, “Vedas or Upanishads”. Even in our group, these terms were quite new to few before joining. Few don’t even knew that something called Moksha exists before joining. So, how can we expect that people will approach themselves with interest to learn, while they are first of all not aware of existence of such things?
In this situation, is it right to volunteer to preach others what we read or should we follow mounam until someone approaches with real interests themselves?
Sorry for long post. I gave the back ground as the question may lead to some mis-understanding.
