My friend is asking why TN not praising Tamil saints?

Is TN secular?

  • Ramanujar is not just a ‘Tamiah’ saint. For that matter, even ‘vedam Tamizh seitha Maaran’ is also not limited to Tamizh! They are universal saints. (if there is an appropriate word that indicates greater than the word ‘universe’ we can use that word).
  • Ramanujar is glorified in Tamilnadu also; of course there is lot of room for more glorification; his glories are endless; so there is endless room for more endless glorification.
  • It is ironical that your friend should think of these material divisions of tamil vs telugu; tamilnadu vs andhra / telengana when speaking about an all encompassing personality like Udaiyavar, that too his form and memorial that emphasises unity. So, please tell your friend to forget such divisions atleast in this instance and simply focus on him, his teachings and serving his sincere followers.

To be honest, I observe that Telugu, Kannada and many parts of North Indians tend to be true bhaktha.
Coz of nAsthika attitude bhakthi is not patronized by Tamils…not all, except few..
Though majority tend to portrait as bhakthas in Tamilnadu, the are not truly dedicated as in other states mentioned above.bhakthi is being commercialised or exploited for commercial benefits.
In Kerala temples, priests strictly follow he aAcharam and nistai. This is completely missing in Tamilnadu, may be few exceptions ?

That gopuram was constructed by 95+year Ahobila jeeyar
