Embar (Govindan Bhattar) and KurathAzhwan are among the 74 simhasanatipadis. Embar turned to siva baktha for some time and then brought back to SriVaishnavism. KurathAzhwan remained a SriVaishnavite. While Embar is considered to be among OrANvazhi guru paramparai (Guru paramparai of Tenkalai), KurathAzhwan is considered as acharya only and not among OrANvazhi guru paramparai.
What is the reason?.

Kuraththaazhwaan’s thirukumaarar Bhattar is Embaar’s Shishya.
Kuraththaazhwaan himself left for Thirunaadu before Udaiyavar in order to prepare the place for receiving Udaiyavar. So, it appears he himself didn’t have the service of offering panasamskaram to others.
Nevertheless, we do recite his thaniyan everyday along with the thaniyans of other acharyas in the sampradaya.

Since Kuraththaazhwaan is one of the 74 simhasanatipadis, he would have been declared an acharya before his departure for Thirunaadu. Hence, he would have done pancha samskaram to others.
I think, knowledge of the basis of formulation of acharyas for OrANvazhi guru paramparai (after Ramanujar) may provide the answer.
Who formulated OrANvazhi guru paramparai. This would have been formulated after Manavala mamunigal. Hence, I feel, the departure of Kuraththaazhwaan for Thirunaadu before Ramanujar may not be reason for not considering him among OrANvazhi guru paramparai.
Also Why OrANvazhi guru paramparai stopped with Manavala mamunigal and did not continue further.
