Sri:

We say “Happy New Year”. While we say “Happy Tamil New Year” as if actual “New Year” means 1st Jan.

Shouldn’t we say “Happy Gregorian New Year” to everyone?

Mukkur solluvar, Sahasranamam endrAley VishNu Sahasranamam everything else came later so requires prefix.

Andavan sAdhippar, Vedam endrAley sanAthana Dharmam Vedam rest everything prefixed/suffixed by “Muhamadhiyarin Vedam” , “Christian’s Vedam”.

My observation:
Like wise, New Year endrAley Tamil New Year/Sanskrit New Year dhAney.

Why we never say “Happy Gregorian New Year”?

I have started wishing “Happy Gregorian New Year” from yesterday.

Swamy, I think it’s because of western influence

Yes adiyen,
Arivu kannai thirakka try pandren Swamy 🙂
We are too much influenced by West
Adiyen saw tamil channel where
Girls were dancing in disco/party in new year smoking and drinking including boys
If smoking & drinking is bad for health how does it scope in enjoyment factor?
It could increase curiosity in children & make them smoke & drink a bad sign for the society
So let’s do reality check
Do we really wear kosuvam veccha sarees & Vetti on Tamizh PuthAndu? Why so much importance to English New Year?
