Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,
Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,
Madhippukuriya Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Thiruvadigalaey Sharanam,
Adiyen Swami,
Devareer beautiful explanation about which items are “Mangalam & Pavithram”. Others items that StiKrishna has not listed should not be consdiered as Managalam and Pavithram.
Like Devareer said, Bangles from elephnat romam put on babies hands is considered for dhristi, and other ways is not considered as mangalam/pavithram
Lighting lamp with Oil and Thiri is Mangalam/Pavithram and Putting Electric lamb is not Managlam//Pavithram
With Devareer anugraham, adiyen would like to mention same way, Ladies traditionally have habit of putting Kann Mai (கண் மை , eyebrow liner). Adiyen is not talking about the modern girls/ladies putting eyebrows for style. Those are cosmetic things made of chemicals like the electirc lamp example (not auspicious), not like the natural oil lamp way (natural kann mai).
There are traditional ways for making a NATURALl Kann mai, and there are many Pros to it. These were followed by Traditional Sanatana Dharma ladies and old womens still in villages and by some in cities as well.
Like, Natural Kann Mai keeps away from “Billie Shoonyam, Protects eyes from dsut, others trying to do vaseegaranam , removes others evil eye (Adhristi) and helps on Dhristi etc….”
If traditional family ancestors were following a traditional way, then that should be prescribed in shastras as well, since there is shastric procedure to make a Kann mai (eyebrow liner) with natural ingredients.
So, when traditional ladies apply these Kann mai for them regularly which also helps on Dhristi, they apply the remaining natural kann mai paste on their babies cheeks instead of washing it away, so the babies are also protected ‘Dhristi’.
Adiyen believe, that’s how babies having “Dhristi Pottu” Term evolved (Natural Black Color Kann Mai), which is True Mangalam/Pavithram, as the original kann mai paste is prepared using natural ingredients in a Shastric way which is also applied for the babies. Other ways of Kann mai preparation and ladies applying it, is like electric lamp example (not Mangalam/Pavithram).
For SriVaishnavas Ladies/Gents like us, the SriChoornama/Thirumna Kaapu/Acharya Samasryanam is the final protection for Athma/Body, but general Santana Dharmis, when they follow traditional sampradhayic ways, then SriKrishna protects them is what adiyen understood from Devareer’s pravachanams. Also SriVaishnava ladies apply these traditional Kann Mai, as there are many unkown natural benefits even for the body like “Seyyadhana Seyyom”.
Srivaishnavaites like, Arayars (Arayar sevai) use natural kann mai during their divya prabhandam dance expressions. Also, many who do classical dance use it.
