Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,
Another way to self evaluate ourselves in case of Ego or Anger is to “Consider ourselves in others Shoes”, which Adiyen follow for self improvement.
Means, if we show arrogance or Ego or Anger or ACTUALLY ANNOY someone knowlingly, then if the other person does the same towards us, then “are we in a position to accept it without any EGO”. If not, it means we are following “DOUBLE STANDARDS”,
* Like everyone should talk that is pleasing to myself even though I can talk that is annoying to others. This is not correct.
So the lesson learned is “we shouldn’t be arrogant or angry or annoying others, when we ourselves cannot accept it when others does is to us”.
Another self evaluation method, we quarrel or fight within family members who are weaker like quite wife or sadhu husband or one has more patience etc….. If they are stronger or stouter or “no patience”, do we quarrel or fight with them?, We know we will be under soup.
So we clearly know that we will be tackled either by argument or physically if we annoy or quarrel or fight with someone who don’t have patience plus stronger than us. So we dont exhibit our Ego or Anger to such person’s,vwhich means we already know “Ego/Anger Management”.
So we are double standarded. Hence we have to change to single standard.
So how we should be single standard is:
* Talk the Truth to others polietly,
* but don’t talk the truth if it is not for a constructive purpose
* Before we talking, consider ourselves in their shoes (viewpoint) and see will I accept the same question if asked on to me. If not don’t ask, because it is going to come back on to us again through someone else.
…, this is the first lesson Acharys or Vadhyar Swami’s teach one during Upanayanam at age 7, “Sathyam Brooyaath, Priyam Brooyaath,…..”
So let’s refresh our memory and actually start APPLYING IT rather than just by saying “yes I listened” to taste the NECTAR of Acharyas holy word’s.
