Whereas Bhishma made Sankalpam that Krishna will take weapon and Krishna took chariot’s chakram and used it as weapon for Bhishma’s sake

He is Bhaktha ParAdheenan

Solluvarey thavira avar bhaktha sankalpathukku dhAn mukhiyathuvam kuduppAr

This we can see in pAnduranga based stories. A bhaktha will do Ashirvadham that “you couple will have child” Panduranga will make it happen even though the “horoscope will not have putra bhagyam”. May be vishesha dharmam.

Follow Kshatriya dharma of fighting and not to fall for emotions

Be a warrior in battlefield

Whereas Bhishma followed his fighting dharma so Krishna was pleased
