With Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham Abhimaanam, Adiyen will request devareer to listen Swami’s FULL “Mumukkshupadi” Kalakshepam for clear details, because knowing the other words before and after “நமோ” in ThiruMantram is neccessary. Same way we need to know the other words and sentences in Dvaya Manthram to understand the context of “நம:” in it.

Swami’s Kalakshepam goes for hours and Vyakyanam by Swami Manavaala Maamunigal goes for pages for these padhams “நமோ & நம:“, so it is tough to be explain Poorvacharyas Elite Rahasya Arthams in forum, but inirder to give a grip of these padhams so that devareer can listen to Swami’s Kalakshepam, Adiyen will share in crisp with Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham Abhimaanam.

நமோ is the middle word in ThiruMantram,
which is nothing but the expansion of the middle letter உ in the predecessor word OM 🕉️ (Pranavam), and this
நமோ represents அநன்யாரக ஷேஷத்வம் which means “நான் வேற யாருக்கும் அடிமை இல்லை” (Namo = Na Mama “I’m m not mine and Not others property like Devatas etc…”). So the question arises, then whose I’m?, for that the third word “நாராயணாய” represents அநன்ய போஙயத்வம் means நான் என்னுடைய சந்தோஷத்துக்காகவும் இல்லை and நான் வேற யாருடய சந்தோஷத்துக்காகவும் இல்லை, but for the Happiness of BhagavAn ONLY.

நம: is the last word in the second line of Dvaya Mantram,
The 1st line of Dvayam is the expansion of the ThiruMantram middle word நமோ, “PERIYA Pirattiyai munnittu NarayanAn ThiruvAdiyai Sharanam Pattrudhal”.
The 2nd line of Dvayam represents கைங்கரயம் பிரார்த்திப்பது.

The general meaning of நம: is, it eliminates our:
* Ahankaram (considering body as Athma),
*Mamakaaram (thinking anything that we see us ours),
It also eliminates our JeevAthma Swaroopa Virodhi, Upaya Virodhi and Upeya Virodhi.

But நம: here in Dvayam means கைங்கரய விரோதிகளை ஒழிப்பது. And what is that Virodhi for Kainkaryam?.

It is
போக்தாஹம் மம பாேகோயம், means thinking that I’m the ENJOYER OF THIS KAINKARYAM. This bad thinking is our Enemy/Virodhi. So we are praying Sriman NarayanAn (Piratti-Perumal) to eliminate this thinking by saying நம:, so that ‘I’m only Doer (Kartha) of this Kainkaryam, but the Enjoyer of the Kainkaryam is “Sriman NarayanA” and not me.

Adiyen had a misunderstanding from Swami’s Kalakshepam. Correcting as below

அநன்யாரக ஷேஷத்வம் is வேற யாருக்கும் அடிமை இல்லை. This is for the Pranavam ‘OM’ first word of ThiruMantram.

அநன்ய ஷரணத்வம் is வேற அடைக்கலம் எதும் இல்லை. This is for the நமோ, the middle word in ThiruMantram.

Adiyen swapped these in initial posting kShamikkanum.

But the third word அநன்ய போஙயத்வம் is correct as above for the third word நாராயணாய.
