Namaskaram Swami,

My mother use to say that I should not hair bath and shave hair on ammavasai if the parents are alive. Is that right swami?

Whether parents are alive or not, one cannot do both these on amavasya.

அம்மாவாசை அன்று தலைக்கு குளிக்க கூடாதா? பல சமயங்களில் நதி கரையோரம் /  கடற்கரையோரம் தர்ப்பணம்  செய்வது போல் காட்சிகள் வருகிறதே ? அது தப்பா ?

I believe swamy mention about oil bath and not normal head bath.

For Dharpanam, it is a good thing to do if Parents are not alive. If they are alive, don’t worry about such thoughts. Just ignore.

Swami says about “Sleep and Dreams” in Enpani #68.
