Resp U. Ve. Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy,
Namaskaram.
Baja Govindam was rendered by Adi Sankarar (and his disciples). There are names “Govinda”, “Vishnu” and “Murari” mentioned in the song. It is widely believed that Adi Sankarar advocates worshipping of Govindan through this song (slokas).
Advaitis take the Sanskrit meaning of these words (names) and do not attach them to the names of Lord Vishnu.
Whether Adi Sankarar meant Lord Vishnu in Baja Govindam?. Or it is at the discretion of the reader to take them as the name of Lord Vishnu or literal meaning of the words in sanskrit?.
It is told that Baja Govindam was rendered in the later part of Adi Sankarar’s life. After rendering Baja Govindam, whether he suggested worshipping of Lord Vishnu or became devotee of Lord Vishnu?.
Request to clarify the above doubts.
