Some additional Insight & correlation based on adiyen’s understanding from Swami’s Upanyasams.

Srimadh Ramayanam (Kamba Ramayanam):

Before SriRama and Sita Piratti marriage, they saw each other in Janakapur, Mithilai Kingdom.

Sita Piratti was under age 6 and was playing some ball game with other girls and the ball rolled to the balcony which was facing outside the home (Aranmanai). SriRama was walking on the ground outside the Aranmanai along with VishwaMitra Maharishi and Lakshmana to visit Mithilai to see the Shiva Dhanush, but SriRama was not aware of the marriage ceremony. At that time, Sita Piratti came to the balcony to take the ball and looked down accidentally and at same instance SriRama looked above and saw Sita Piratti. Sita was immediately love stuck, and Rama was captivated by Sita’s beauty and elegance. It had only taken a second, but the spell was cast.  They were hopelessly in love!.

This was “ SriRama and SIta’s LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT (before marriage)”, as Kambhar says in Kambha Ramayanam “அண்ணரும் நோக்கினான் அவளும் நோக்கினாள்” as said by Swami in Upanyasam.

This is a decent Maanasika Kaadhal between SriRama and Sita Piratti as seen in Guna Movie “மனிதர் உணர்ந்து கொள்ள,  இது மனித காதல் அல்ல”

Sri Rama’ age was 12 & Sita Piratti age was 6 at the time of their marriage.

In olden days, this is only termed as Marriage (Vivaham) and NOT as “Child Marriage” because the family elders do this arranged marriage to their kids so they can know each other from their childhood (like Official Dating after Marriage with Parents’ Permission). But, the elders kept both the couples separately in adolescent age, so there is no Physical involvement between the married couples until the girl attains the required matured age (after puberty). Then elders decide a Muhurttham (date) for them to be together as husband and wife for Kula Vritthi called as “Shaanthi Muhurttham / ஷாந்தி முஹூர்த்தம்”.

Similar decent situation to describe form the Movie “Kaadhalukku Maryaadhai / காதலுக்கு மரியாதை“ where the hero and heroine see for first time and love at first sight by Mind and THROUGHT OUT THE MOVIE (without marriage), they never even touch each-other like holding hands or running around tress and singing.. The movie end is Subham after their parents arrange their marriage.

Same thing SriRama and Sita Piratti Love at First Sight “அண்ணரும் நோக்கினான் அவளும் நோக்கினாள்” as said by Swami in Upanyasam.. So adiyen would like to dedicate a song from movie Movie “Kaadhalukku Maryaadhai / காதலுக்கு மரியாதை“

Later at SriRAma’s age was 24 and Sita Piratti’s age was 18 (correct age for the the wife husband relashionship), they were actually sent to Honeymoon (vanavaasam). Swami has said, SriRama and Sita did not have any difficulties in the forest. Lakshmanan built a privacy room in the Kudil that he made for SriRama & Sita Piratti’s privacy. They ate all natural foods, no Rajya Paripaalam (No Kingdom) responsibilities, only singing, dancing etc….till the last year 10 months Sita had to go to Lanka to save the Captive Deva Sthrees in Lanka.

But, the elders kept both the couples separately in adolescent age, so there is no Physical involvement between the married couples until the girl attains the required matured age (after puberty) around age 18.  Till the girl attains age 18, the bride’s family also send an older aged LADY KEEPPER from their family called as “சீதன வெள்ளாட்டி”, who is always helping their girl in the groom’s home, since she is very young child to do any work in groom’s home, and the bride groom always sleeps with the சீதன வெள்ளாட்டி.  Then after she attains puberty (around age 18), then the elders decide a Muhurttham (date) for the couples to be together as husband and wife for Kula Vritthi called as “Shaanthi Muhurttham / ஷாந்தி முஹூர்த்தம்”. So, a husband and wife were allowed to have physical contact only after the wife was at her age 18

In Present days, if child marriage is done, and if there is no special monitoring or care taking for those couples, things could go wrong, and couples will start misinterpreting that one can have physical contact before age 18, which is not the case in olden days. So, inorder to address this issue, BhagavAn has issued the marriage age for girls as 18 minimum through the present law “Child Marriage ACT” to protect girl’s chastity, but it is not an issue in olden days, since the elders of the family and சீதன வெள்ளாட்டி took care of the girl & boy non-contact before the proper age 18, though marriage was done at their adolescent age, so the girl and boy could KNOW EACHOTHER (like Dating) before they start they life after girls attains age 18.

In olden days, during marriage at adolescent age, the “சீதன வெள்ளாட்டி (old aged lady)” is sent by Bride (girl) family side to bride grooms (boy) family to take care of the girl till she reaches the proper age 18 or above.
