Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,
Swamy, in our life we are faced with challenges of making decisions frequently.
It is said one should base his decisions according to sastric directions.
If one does not know sastra relevant to the context concerned or if there are multiple perspectives or angles presented in sastra for the same topic one would need help from a sadhu/ Guru/ elders to understand the relevant portion applicable to one’s situation.
But if one gets different suggestions from different people ( elders, well wishers , Guru etc.) all suggesting that they are indicating Perumaal s desire..then how does one make a decision?
This question arose after I heard Bhagavatham audios 191 to 193 , where King Priyavratan was advised by Narada muni to pursue path of direct renunciation, whereas Lord Brahma suggested him to do worldly duties in mood of devotion.
1. So it was not clear how king Priyavratan made a decision as both Narada Muni and Lord Brahma are exalted devotees of the Lord.
2.In a holistic view the end goal of both the advice is same but the path taken is different, so does that mean as long as our motivation is to please the Lord it does not matter which decisions we make?
