Namaskaram. Kindly note, our Swamy has clearly mentioned that both ‘sincere enquiry in detail’, and ‘simply accepting the Superiors words as such’ are both valid ways.
It is said that beginners in devotion ask questions and those who are advanced simply accept; therefore our behaviour should be as per actual stage. If I am a biginner it is very important for me to enquire sincerely from the right source and strengthen my faith so that I can advance. Instead if I try to fast-forward and behave like an already advanced person (by simply accepting) that is dangerous in two ways. One, I may not have the proper discrimination on whose words I should accept as such and whose words I should not. One may end up blindly following a wrong leader and end up in spiritual darkness. Secondly, even from an authentic acharya, if I fast-farward and simply accept (without passing through the stage of asking sincere questions), my faith may not be realy strong and at some unfortunate worldly circumstances I can easily get derailed from the path of spiritual progress.
So it is very important that we conduct ourselves as appropriate for our stage, so that gradual, steady progress is ensured.
