Fine. At one point, one has to know the answers to the questions to retain faith in dharma or it will be left with elders and we will be called as superstitious.

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy used to say
“If you wish to know how the fan spins before it’s switched on you will not be able to enjoy the air”

IMO at least one should know to repair the fan.

Swamy also debunked “Sati” practice. It’s not a mandate and people who wish to go to swarga did that in olden days but it was misunderstood later.

Adiyen can quote many examples to support Swamy.

In Mahabharata , I think dhritrastra & co during vanaprastra left in yoga Agni. (Please correct me)

In RamayaNam , Sabari left in Yoga Agni.

So there were references of such departures.

Secondly,
Swamy also clarified “KanyA DhAnam” stuff during marriage ritual.

Question is:
Today we find many such practices.

Women BahishkAram (dormitory) during periods.

I think it came not to torture women when they are already physically weakened by nature.

So performing any activity will be difficult. It’s like taking leave for not feeling well.

Today it’s misunderstood as “Not allowing women to work during periods”

Shraddham:
Not inviting people with “Anga Heenam” (Disabled). What adiyen believe, already they are disabled and not to torture them further with rituals which may harm them further.

As we all JeevAthmAs are alike why should we have such clauses for ShrAddham? (Devasam)

So, just to comfort the weak Shastram having such clauses, please correct adiyen. Keeping in view of “yathA Shakthi” (as capable).

Also, is it okay to perceive shastram like this or will there be other deeper meanings?

Dasanudasan
