Maryadha purushottham ram vs poorana purushottham Krishna

Srimathe ramanujaya namaha
Swamy, Usually people in North India call Lord Rama as ” maryadha purushottham ram” and Lord Krishna as “poorana purushottham Krishna”
I asked one them for this .
He said that , Krishna was 16 kalaa sampooran . So he was called as poorana purushottham while Rama had only 14 kalaa sampooran. So he was called as maryadha purushottham. They are not considering rama as poorana avatar. According to people in braj boomi, only Krishna is the poorana avatar and rest all avatars are avesha avatars

Instead of calling Rama as ” poorana purushottham ” why they are calling Rama as “maryadha purushottham”?
Why they are calling Rama, narasimha, matshya, koorma etc., as an avesha avatar although they are accepted as poorana avatars?
Why Rama had only 14 kalaa sampooran, while Krishna had 16 kalaa sampooran?

Sundara Ramanuja swamy, namaskaram.

I doubt whether the person who shared the information actually knows the topic he discussed with you or he was just sharing his perception.

Obviously there are many things we can not understand from our material logic. In his lecture on Thanian to திருமாலை, நம் வேளுக்குடி ஸ்வாமி சாதிக்கிறார் “ஸ்ரீரங்கத்தில் பெரிய பெருமாள் கிருஷ்ணர்; நம்பெருமால் ராமர்”. So, Ramar is same as Krishnar is same as Ranganathar. At the same time they are different in a certain perspective.

Personally for me, I have confidence that the sampradayam my achayan is representing is good enough to take me back to Vaikuntha. I am not going to confuse myself with scattered details gathred through hearsay from zillion other sources floating around. Once I go back to Vaikuntha I can learn the nuances of the details, whatever may be required for my kainkaryam there. For now it is utmost important for me to protect myself from unnecessary confusions.

If I were in your shoes I wouldn’t give a second thought to what I heard from this friend.

Kindly bear with me if I have spoken beyond my limits.

Kambandasan swamy, you are correct.
I’m just going to throw away these unwanted hearinings

ஆமாம் ஸ்வாமி! The more I think I about this, the strongly I feel the importance of following this.

If someone is interested in music, first he can learn carnatic, and when a reasonable expertise is reached then he can explore Hindustani. At that stage he will be able to understand the unifying principles between the two and also appreciate the differences, and bring out the synergistic beauty in a fusion music.

Other the otherhand, if he were to learn both forms of music simultaneously, he is unlikely to learn either one properly and end up in confusion music, not fusion music.

Similarly, we have to put in a sincere, systematic, focussed effort in understanding our respective sampradaya to a reasonable depth. At that stage if we come across other samradayas we will be able to understand the commonalities between the different sampradayas, and also appreicate how the differences or unique emphasis on different aspects of Perumal by the different sampradays enhances our collective service to Him.

But without a strong foundation in our own sampradaya if we try to learn a little bit here and a little bit there, we will end up in utter confusion. Either we may doubt our own sampradaya and lose all interest in spiritual science; or we may blindly think we are the best and others are wrong, and thus commit offence to those vaishnavas.

You may remember, several months ago our Swamy requested us (paraphrased) “first study any one scripture systematically and properly. This will address most of the fundamental questions. Then you can ask questions based on your hearing and studying; such questions will be genuniely beneficial to you. But without a systematic study of even one book, you will end up asking the same kind of questions again and again, and not make any progress at all“.

I am extrapolating this instruction to mean, first I must systematically understand my sampradaya to reasonable depth. That will help me easily understand other sampradayas also. At that stage whatever questions I may have, I can place that to an authority and get it answered.

So, [Hear, Study, Discuss with friends, place questions to Guru for clarification] Repeat!!! If I don’t follow this cycle, then my questions may not be meaningful, and even if I get an answer I may not actually benefit from it.

Thank you.

Kambandasan swamy,
I found answer for this question in Internet ( Don’t know whether it is correct)
🦚The 16 kalaas of Krishna are:🦚
1)Anna Maya
2)Prana Maya
3)Mano Maya
4)Vigananaya
5)Anandamaya
6)Atishayini
7)Vipanabhimi
8)Sankramini
9)Prabhvi
10) Kunthini
11)Vikasini
12)Maryadhini
13)Sanhaldhini
14)Ahladhini
15)Paripurna
16)swarupavasthit
So, Krishna was called as a paripoorna avatar.

Lord Rama and Krishna are same but Lord Rama had to hide the last 2 kalaas (Paripurna and swarupavasthit) internally to kill Ravana, as Ravana had a boon that he will be killed by human only.
Lord Rama despite knowing his divinity, tended not to show it openly, tried to hide it from public view and displayed common man’s emotions( crying, suffering, worrying) openly which had the potential for others to doubt his divine powers. Rama wanted to live as like as human.
So, Lord Rama was born as human avatara . He did not show his godly qualities by remaining in human form.
Thus Lord Rama hided his last two kalaas ( although he had all 16 kalaas). Thus Rama was called as “maryadha purushottham ram”

🐑Please forgive me if Adiyen had did any mistake ( I found the above explanation in Internet. Don’t know whether it is correct)🐑

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Why so much confusion.

Purushottaman means what?
Purusha + Utthaman = Purushotaman
Anthar bahischa tat sarvam VyApya nArAyaNA sthitha: says Purusha sukhtham

Sri Rama is ParipoorNan

Sri Rama is PoorNa brahmam

Sri Rama + Rama + Rama ithi Ramey RAmey manoramey

SahasranAma thathulyam Rama nAma varAnaney

Rama= 1000 names of Vishnu

Does the kalA determine PerumAl’s poorNathvam?

Do PerumaL need to learn anything?

May be nahi nindA nyAyam make them feel Krishna more closer.
