Namaskaram.

This may be an unwise query, but may be thought provoking.

Do Micro organism (bacteria, viruses) have atma?.

Yes and also those bacteria which we can’t see with our naked eyes, it too has Atma

I suspected this for quite long.

That means, in our body we have billions of atmas besides the main atma. In such case, whether taking antibiotics is not considered ahimsa?.

Namaskaram Swami

That means, in our body we have billions of atmas besides the main atma.

Absolutely true.

As Devarir mentioned above, yes, there are millions of Atmas present, firstly, why go too much ahead as of Antibiotics, just consider, Nail-cutting, while we do this, millions of Atma gets lost.

One more example, we all knowingly or unknowingly commit sins daily, even while cooking, mopping, walking, sweeping  the floor etc etc therein lots of Pranees which we can see and sometimes can’t even see, dies, for all such events untill now and further-on, we are only going to increase our Karmas by and large only, However, for a saranagata these will not affect, since a Saranagata surrenders the acts or karmas ( For punya; surrenders the Phalan and for pavam apologises and makes a firm resolve of not commiting it the next time) to the lotus feet of the lord.

“whether taking antibiotics is not considered ahimsa?.”

So , while taking Antibiotics do say ( Vaidyo Narayano Hari) and take it.

Also, it is a very nice thought of Devarir, of even considering various jeevans at the cost of your health, that is one of the true qualities of a Sri Vaishnava.

Krishnan Swami in his Siddhi Trayam Kalakshepam, stated, There are several jeevan

inside and outside this body , and only one jeevan is there which directs ( The Mind, Bhudhi), The main Atma is the one which enjoys pleasure for Sukham and suffers for all the sins or Pavams, For the other Atmas which are present, for them,  due to their Karmas, not have got the opportunity to even get a shareeram to reduce their Karmas and perform Saranagati, so it itself is a Dukham, ( Just like a stone) .

 I Hope  this answers

Jayaram swamy and Ramanuja parakalan swamy, Namaskaram. Nice question and answer. Thank you. Please let me add my understanding too.

If I enter your compound and pluck flowers from your plants or cut your tree or remove grass, I will be punished by you. But if you hire me as a landscaper and I do the same work, I incur no punishment. Because all I did was only my service to the master who hired me. Whatever collateral damage happens my master will take care of that.

Likewise, if I harm so many jeevas in course of my daily actions I definitely incur sins. But if I have submitted myself as a servant of Perumal and all my activities (EVERY SINGLE ACTIVITY OF EVERYDAY LIFE) is carried out in a mood of kainkaryam to acharyan (the contractor who hired me) and Perumal (the original boss of everything), then I incur no sins. In fact it pleases my master.

So, in exceptional case for preservation of this body which is an inevitable tool for our kainkaryam in this world, it is permisible to kill some bacteria. At the same time we should keep in mind that we can not go on a killing spree just because we have the license as a ‘servant of Perumal’. As our Velukkudi Swamy mentioned in a recent enpNi, harming animals for testing our medicines is sin indeed.

Let us all continue to practise a deep mood of kainkaryam in all our activities, and be considerate towards all living entities (property of our master) in our actions. The concern expressed by Jayaram swamy is a good example in this direction.
