Namaskaram!

Today we all celebrate ‘Sri Nrusimha Jayanti’!

Bhagawan Nrusimhar took his avataram on a ‘Swati’ nakshatram as we understand.

Is there a reason why certain avatara Jayantis are calculated basis ‘Chandramaana’ calendar; otherwise not so in case most of the annual festivals that we follow, at least in Tamil Nadu and also in Kerala, I think?

Though ‘Sri Krishna Jayanti’ is also followed as per ‘Chandramaana calendar’ in most parts of our country, we still look at ‘Rohini’ nakshatram for calculating the fall of the day.

I notice this difference in rest of the country (except TN and Kerala) even in calculating birthday of individuals, where nakshatram is not the deciding factor but chandramaana maasam, paksham and thithi. 

Is it like ‘chandramaana’ was followed by everyone once a upon a time and later we moved to ‘sauramaana’ calendar?
