My mother said:
After Andal mixed with Perumal. Vishnu chithar prayed Ranganathar. Then ashareere voice came.
Ranganathar said “I will come as mapillai and stay in your oor”
That’s how Ranganathar became Ranga mannar.
Mannar means mapoillai.
By the way, Srivilliputhur is Andaal aatchi. Always Andal first.
