Swami,
Again adiyen’s interpretation
Bhakti can be defined as “constantly relating to bhagavan in anyway”
So in virakthi, displeasure over material things makes us constantly think about supreme bhagavan and think less about material things because you hate material things. And we like bhagavan more. Even if we don’t like bhagavan but only hate material things, then also bhagavan will consider as we have started to hate material things.
This small hate will slowly release u from the loka ruchi one might have. Constant bhakti will lead to Vairagyam. Vairagyam is the final step of bhakti. In vairagyam, you are not attached to material things, but let your karma happen for the sake of it.
In vairagyam, you don’t get entire natural state like a yogi. But an intermediate state where you have a lot of mental strength, can restrain yourself and more. Bhakti is especially meant to develop these qualities – sense control, clear knowledge, etc. But for many people, life ends with following bhakti alone. They may or may not attain these good qualities.
One who attains to these good qualities permanently and can lead a neutral state is vairagyam.
In vairagyam you can display bhakti but at will and out of the knowledge and gratitude to bhagavan. Not that emotions will not be there. What adiyen means is in aspiring bhaktas, mental strength is based on emotions like these. But in vairagyam, full mental strength is there, so emotions does not help you to attain something but is an expression of your gnana.
Iniku aradhanam nalla nadantha namkku manasukulla oru sandhosam irukum. This sandhosham helps us to face life situations.
But with vairagyam, they can face life situations without any support like nalladhu ketadhu. Because you have passed that stage. And simple express knowledge with love.
Adiyen
