In one TV talk show between beleivers and non beleivers. Beleivers shared their experiences of being in their past life.

Finally, in that  TV, out of compulson, the anchor brought a so-called poet who said:

“A person asked Ramana Maharishi, who am I in the past life? to which Ramana Maharishi replied, why you need to know?. So let’s deny the acceptance of such conceptions as it brings imbalance in the society,”.

I don’t get it. The whole point of the show was to access the people who had such experiences, why pass such judgements?

A mami told, “Sin is the cause for me to be born as a woman”. The anchor rejected her view point. He said “Such thought will let you come out of that notion”.

We know why the TV is setting such narrative pointing to societal stigma, discrimination etc.

The other judge said “Even if its true let’s deny the concept of rebirth.

I am least bothered about above non sensical remarks on one’s experiences.

My questions:

1. Why should Ramana Maharishi know about other’s life/past/future lives?

2. Why Ramana Maharishi set on a journey called “Who am I”?

3. Why learned are rejecting such inquisitive questions?
