Varna system only for human beings?

BG 4 -13 : The [social] system of four castes was generated by Me according to division of Gunas and Karma.

BG 18 – 40 : There is no being on earth or even among the gods in heaven, that is free from [the influence] these three Gunas arising from Prakrti.

Lord Krishna says the system of four castes was generated according to division of Gunas and Karma. Also He says There is no being on earth or even among the gods in heaven, that is free from these three Gunas arising from Prakrti. It is understood that all beings are having karma till liberation.

Whether that means varna system is applicable to all beings including gods in heaven, since varna is generated according to gunas and karma, which all the beings possess?.

If it is so, how the system is followed in higher species?.

After posting this query, I have searched and got the reference of Brihadaranyaka Upanishad (verses I-iv-11 to I-iv-15), wherein it is mentioned about the higher species and their varna.

Brahmin- Agni

Kshatriya- Indra, Varuna, the moon, Rudra, Parjanya, Yama, Death, and Isana

Vaishya- Vasus, Rudras, Adityas, Visvadevas and Maruts

Sudra- Pushan / Earth

It says :: (He became) a Kshatriya through the (divine) Kshatriyas and similarly for other varnas. That is, from the respective varna devatha, corresponding varna of human came into being. I am not sure whether this is in line with purusha sukta.
