Are vedas and shastras one and the same? I feel many a times it is used interchangeably so getting confused about the two.
Shastras is collective term text that includes everything from Vedas, Ithihasa, Purana, Agama, Dharmashastra, Jyothisa, Kalpa, Nirukta, Shiksha, Vyakarna etc. Shastra in Sanskrit means “that which commands”.
