Regarding query “……………..Are there many vyapaka and avyapaka mantrams? Is Vishnu gayatri the one and only vyapaka mantra?…….”

Answer:
There are only 3 Vyapaka mantras and many Avyapaka mantras due to only 3 Vyapaka namas : NarayanA, Vasudeva & Vishnu.
* Vyapaka namas deals with BhagavAn’s Vyapagatvam (Pervading nature / OMNIPRESENCE)) Inside and Outside Every Chit &Achit, And reveals BhagavAn’s Swaroopam.
*Avyapaka namas deals with BhagavAn’s Leela’s and Gunas.of HIS one or more avatars.

Of the 3 Vyapaka namas, Poorvacharyas consider “NarayanA” nama is important since it reveals BhagavAn’s Vyapthi, Swaroopam, Roopam, Gunam and Vibhoothi where as the other two Vyapaka namas “Vishnu and Vasudeva” reveals the Vyapthi but not the Gunas.

Yes, Vishnu Gayatri is the only one which includes BhagavAn’s 3 Vyapaka namas as:

“Narayanaaye Vidmahe Vasudevaaya Dheemahi
Thanno Vishnu Prajothayaat”.

Most books (hard copy or digital) write Vishnu Gayatri with only 2 Vyapaka namas “Vishnu and Vasudeva” excluding “NarayanA” nama which is incorrect. The above Vishnu Gayatri with 3 Vyapaka namas is the correct one.

There are 3 separate Vyapaka mantras for each of the 3 Vyapaka namas as:
Om Namo Narayanaaye,
Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaye,
Etc…

The above gist explanations itself is not sufficient to understand the breakdown meaning of the 3 Vyapaka namas/sapthams. So please listen to Velukkudi Swami’s Kalakshepams.
