Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha
* According to Kinchit BhAgavathAs in Dharma Sandeha, SriRam did NOT eat non-veg
*According to Thirukkudanthai Andavan Swamy, (AchAryan whom Dushyanth Quotes frequently) based on Sri AchArya RAmAmrutham in Sri RanganAtha PAdukA, Sri Ram did NOT eat non-veg
* According to SollAmal Solliya RAmAyaNam upanyAsam by Sri Karyam Swamy, where SriRam need to kill demon Ravanan only using human powers, the epitome of human power has to be sAthvikam!
We had elaborate discussion in Dharma Sandeha, adiyen will search & give links.
Other quotations where doubts can arise:
* Dying VAli asked monkey meat not edible for human then why hunt me?
* Golden deer skin Seetha Piratti said “I will show to my mother in law”
* Hanuman said SriRam stopped eating after distancing from Seetha Piratti
Quotations supports Raghavan’s Veg claim
* SriRam did not accept GuhA’s offering by eating but accepted only by divine sighting (Kandu AruLa Pannudhal)
Thirukkundai Andavan cites above quotation.
For this my friend says, as SriRam was supposed to be ascetic in forest he avoided Guhan’s offering!
Assuming this to be true, then why should SriRam hunt animals while he was supposed to be ascetic? Doesn’t make sense right?
Kshatriya Dharmam?
Some might argue. SriRam was supposed to live a life of sage, why will he resort to Kshatriya Dharmam. Even if one is a Raja Rishi when adhering to Rishi Dharmam one will NOT resort to Raja Dharmam.
* This is evident from Janaka Maharaja SriRam’s father in law being quiet during his (supposed) Kingdom on fire.
* Kaushikar (King) doing tapas became VishwAmitrar (Rishi) therefore Rishi Dharmam supercedes than mere Kshatriya Dharmam
The Disciple of Vishwamitrar Raghavan, how will he do mistakes?
Therefore, we should take AchAryan’s Thiru ullam & not self studied logic.
