Yuddhistra and Bishma

Yuddhistra and Bishma knew so much about the Lord Vishnu, they both were with lord Krishna for such a long time. Even then why did they chose to go to Swargam but not to Vaikuntam? All the Pandavas never make it to Vaikuntam, why??

Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha

Bhishma : He was focused only on his vow. He very well knew that he was supporting Adharma, yet he gave importance to his vow of being with the one who rules the kingdom. When Bhagavan himself was in opposite side to establish dharma, he should have just surrendered to him saying where Bhagavan is, there he will be too.

Pandavas : They never surrendered to Bhagavan. leave others. In fact, Arjuna the one who heard Gita from the lotus lips of Bhagavan himself did not surrender. Arjuna, the one who said he was not interested in Kingdom and that he did not want to kill his relatives before battle should have handed over the kingdom to Yudhishtra and followed Krishna post battle. But he did not do that. post battle, he was in kingdom enjoying riches.

Even brahma was not able to realize who Bhagavan was when Bhagavan came down as Krishna. He tried to play with Bhagavan and had to face the consequences. But people like kuni, maalakaarar, naaval pazham vitra pen were able to realize bhagavan and they got liberated. Bhagavan can be realized only by Bhakthi can be reached only by saranagathi.

Namo Namaha..

Bhishma Pita maha performed his NishKamaKarma without palapeksha. It will be close to crime to say Bhishma Pita Maha has not surrendered to the Lord. He performed his karma even though it is highly painful to him. The atma that took the body of Bhishma was the Eighth Vasu. So after his spending his life as a human according to his sapam, he bacame the vasu again.

Arjuna was none other than Nara in one of his previous birth who had Lord Narayana for a brother. Lord was very fond of him and choose him to preach gita. After hearing Gita, Arjuna performed exactly what the lord told him to do. Lord told him to just wage war as it is Arjuna’s dharma and surrender the results of the war to the lord. He did just that. Besides, Arjuna is Indradeva himself who is spending his sapam in human upadhi. After leaving his sareera he returned to where he belong, that is to Swarga.

All the pandavas are the reincarnations of characteristics of Indra. Yudistira – Indra’s dharma, Bheema – Indra’s balam, Arjuna – Indra’s Tejas and etc. They are born as pandavas because of a sapam. After they suffered a life of human upadhi, they returned back to swarga.

It is very wrong to criticize Bhishma Pita maha, Yudhishtira, Arjuna etc, as they all are mahanubhavas.

Srimatey Ramanujaya Namaha

The point here is not to criticize Bhishma Pita Maha / Yudhishtira etc. The points mentioned above have been told only to understand the reason why none of them got liberated. We do not hear anything from Mahabharatha saying these people attained mukthi. These people are truly great ( no doubt about that ). In spite of getting the greatest opportunity of Bhagavan himself being close to them, they could not make use of it. On the other hand, we hear a naaval pazham virkum pen attained mukthi.

When Bhagavan is trying to establish Dharma, why on earth was Bhishma supporting kauravas ? It is because he felt his vow was more important than trying to establish Dharma. Idhu dhaan dharma sankatam.  When we have 2 dharmas and we choose which is better among those two.

Vibishana is hailed because he chose the right path. He also had dharma sankatam. Whether to support his brother / join Bhagavan and fight for Dharma. he chose the right path. And that’s the reason he is hailed as vibishanaalvan in our sampradayam. Not many are called Azhvans in our sampradayam. On the other hand, Bhishma/ karna chose their own dharmas and left Bhagavan.

And as far as Adiyen knows Arjuna was not Indra himself. He was an amsam of Indra ( a jivatma invested with Indra’s powers ). He is a separate jivatma from Indra. Had he surrendered to Bhagavan as Bhagavan told him, he would have been liberated. Instead, he chose some other upaya apart from Bhagavan. so it was Arjuna’s responsibility to get liberated and not Bhagavan’s.
